Here's some pretty thick bias for you, courtesy of CNN.
Just a few minutes ago, CNN sent out a "Breaking News" bulletin, reporting that the US House of Representatives had passed the "cap, cut, and balance" legislation favored by Republicans (full text below).
But of course, CNN couldn't leave it at that. The network added that the "CCB" legislation was favored by "hard-line conservatives[s]. Gee, so in other words, a clear majority of the House consists of "hard-line conservatives." Got that? And the fact that five Democrats, from red states, voted for CCB? Doesn't matter. From the point of view of the liberal culture of DC and NYC, even red-state Democrats are "hard-line conservatives."
And then in the same e-mail, CNN quotes Barack Obama from earlier in the day, but fails to include any quote from a House Republican, such as Speaker John Boehner. At this moment, as the legislation passes, isn’t the news Boehner and the GOP? No, not according to CNN. The news is Obama, and what he thinks. You see, it’s always about Obama at CNN. Here's the full text:
The House of Representatives votes 234-190 to pass a "cap, cut and balance" bill, which would impose strict caps on all future federal spending while making it significantly tougher to raise taxes.
President Barack Obama has said he would veto such a measure, favored by hard-line conservative, and Democrats in the Senate have said they would kill it if it passes the House. Earlier Tuesday, Obama said legislators "don't have any more time to engage in symbolic gestures" with time running out to raise the country's debt ceiling in order to avoid default.
Pretty one-sided, wouldn't you say? Back in the 90s, CNN earned its sobriquet, “Clinton News Network,” thanks to its slobbering love affair with Bill Clinton. Maybe now we should call CNN the “Chicago News Network,” in honor of Obama’s home town. Or maybe, one day, they will just call themselves the ONN--the Obama News Network.
